Flower Arranging

No regular meetings are held except when one is called for special events such as church festivals, etc.

Age is no bar to this interest, but a knowledge of flowers and plant material is helpful, as is skill in arranging.

We have a good selection of containers including wrought iron stands.

A main arrangement is placed beside the Communion Table and a small one can be placed beside the Pulpit, and another in the vestibule.

Members fill the flower rota and we welcome donors, as contributions are essential.

Arrangers for the weekly flowers are always welcome and should contact us if at all interested.

Open Church

As part of our outreach to the community our church is open each Monday and Tuesday morning between 10.00 and 12.00. Our aim is to provide a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

You will be most welcome to look around our church, light a candle, or take the opportunity to browse our website. We will endeavour to have tea and coffee available too.

We offer a welcome to all, whoever you are, whether or not you are a regular churchgoer. You may be a person who has not entered a church building for some time or you may be a visitor to our town, or are just looking for a refuge from the cares of the world.

You may wish to sit quietly in meditation or prayer or just sit quietly undisturbed. A trained listener will be available if you would like someone to talk with. If you would like someone to pray with you, for yourself or for a particular situation then someone will be there for you.

Please note that Coffee Mornings on Mondays and Tuesdays are subject to enough people being available to run them.

All are welcome.

Something to consider ................

The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree... Matthew 13:31-32

Consider the smallest things that people have done for you that have enabled you to grow.

Write down a single word or a name to give thanks for those things and for those people.

Minister's "Surgery"

It is doubtful the Minister (Revd John Haley) will be holding a regular surgery in the church vestry as his predessors have.

Send a Private and Confidential message to the Minister
or Telephone +44 (0)1803-556971 to make an appointment.

RUUP4IT

How many times have you been asked the question "are you up for it?"

And, what has been your response?

  •  Well, I would but I cannot commit myself to a group
  • That’s good, but I can’t do Wednesdays
  • I wouldn’t mind, but I don’t want to be an organiser
  • Shame, because every second Thursday of the month, I go fishing

Well, here is some good news – if you can say 'YES' any of the above, this will interest you!!

Impromptu social gatherings, to which anyone is invited and most welcome. Please look for the poster in church informing you of the upcoming "do"!!

So now, one final question – Are You Up For It?  We hope you are and look forward to your company.

Our Prayers

Our prayers centre on those we know of in need - the sick, the bereaved, those living through some sort of crisis in their lives - as well as including prayers for the world and for ourselves. If you would like us to especially remember someone or something in our prayers please fill out a Prayer Request Form.

Prayer Request FormWe are a caring, sharing church family and we invite you to share your thoughts and concerns with us by making a Prayer Request.

Our church is open for prayer and meditation each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 10.00 to 12.00. Whether you wish to pray or just sit in the quiet, you are welcome. Alternatively, click here and leave a message if you would like us to pray for you or a particular situation. We will pray for you at our next prayer meeting.

When we speak God hears us, when we pray God listens. Our prayers are always answered but not always in the way we expect.

"God understands every human language. Remaining close to him in silence is already prayer: your lips remain closed but your heart is speaking to him. And, by the Holy Spirit, Christ prays in you more than you can imagine."
Brother Roger of Taizé

"Prayer is a serene force at work within human beings, stirring them up, transforming them, never allowing them to close their eyes in the face of evil, of wars, of all that threatens the weak of this world. From it we draw energy to wage other struggles - to enable our loved ones to survive, to transform the human condition, to make the earth a fit place to live in."
Brother Roger of Taizé
