The ‘2B1’ Worship Group is a monthly get-together for people who like to sing worship songs and eat cake! It is an open meeting for open-minded Christians from different backgrounds and denominations. It is held in a church hall, but is not very ‘churchy’, and there is no sermon, but a chance to share worries or celebrations, joy and sadness.
We meet in the Paignton (Palace Avenue) Methodist Church Hall at 19.30 on the third Thursday of each month except August. We usually have a theme which runs through all the songs. The first half tends to be the quieter, more meditative songs, before we stop for tea/coffee and home made cakes and a time to chat and catch up with old friends and make new ones. After half an hour or so we re-assemble and the singing usually gets louder and the beat faster as we are more relaxed and cake fuelled!
There are spaces for people to give notices from their church, or to share something from their own life, good or bad. Anyone is welcome to speak or pray or share, but no-one is ever put on the spot or made to feel uncomfortable. By the time we finish, at around 21.15, our hope is that those who made the effort to come out of their home to join us will be glad that they did!
You are guaranteed a warm welcome so please come and enjoy friendship, cake and company, as well as a really good sing.
