Aims of 'Young at Heart'

To provide various activities and information for the over 50's in a friendly, caring and happy atmosphere - encouraging people to live a whole lot better.

We meet at Paignton (Palace Avenue) Methodist Church - see the church Week by Week page for confirmation of the days and times of our meetings and activities.

Coffee Mornings

Young at Heart Coffee Mornings

  • Coffee/Tea including biscuits
  • Wednesday and Friday mornings, 10.00 - 12.15.
  • Foyer of Paignton (Palace Avenue) Methodist Church.
  • Friendly chat and information on healthy living and activities of Young at Heart.

Circle Dancing

  •  £1.50 per session, including refreshments
  • Tuesday afternoon 14.00 - 16.00.
  • Paignton (Palace Avenue) Methodist Church Hall (entrance at the rear of the main church building).
  • Beautiful dances from all over the world.
  • Tutor: Jan Mughrabi (there may be a waiting list so please contact the tutor)

Swimming

  • £1.30 entrance for swim + 10p per person administration charge for 'Young at Heart'.
  • Mondays and Thursdays, 10.00 - 11.00
  • Torbay Leisure Centre, Clennon Valley, Paignton.
  • Meet in foyer.
  • Expert tuition given - learn to swim or improve your skills.

Easy Rambles

  • 50p per person per ramble plus any other expenses involved
  • 2nd and 4th Fridays, October-April. Monthly May-September.
  • Please wear stout footwear, shower proof and windproof clothing. Walks usually around 4 miles. You are requested to inform the leader if you should decide to leave the walk at any time.

Textile Crafts and Easy Crafts

Please contact us first as numbers are limited.

  • Textile Craft (Silk Painting, etc.) - Mondays 13.45 - 15.30
  • Easy Crafts some Thursdays 13.45 - 15.30 - (glass painting, doughcraft, decoupage, etc.)
  • St. Johns Court (Lounge), Church Street, Paignton
  • No annual subscription but 60p per session including refreshments
