Thank you very much for the book tokens you kindly gave me when I left for university; they have been put to good use in buying a Spanish text book and a map of the city which has proven very useful, just a shame it doesn't have the location of local takeaways on it, but we've managed to discover those ourselves. Thank you again. Katy And we have had this message from Matt Kirkpatrick - Hi everyone! I’m getting on fine here at Cardiff where I’m studying Mechanical Engineering. I have a room on the third floor of a block of student residences. I have to prepare my own meals in a kitchen that I share with other students so I’m learning to cook basic food. There is a large Tesco's nearby, where I can do all my shopping, and also a McDonalds. I have to do my own laundry; there is a large washing machine for students to use and an ironing board. I have my own iron, which Mum and Dad bought for me. Lectures start at 9.00 a.m. every day; some days I only have to attend one, some days two. I usually get up around 7.20 on weekdays. Weekends I like to go out with my friends. Cardiff is a big city and there are plenty of places to go.
