REMINDER
All
notices for the boards in the foyer, and the hall, must be seen and signed by a
Steward before they are displayed.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Read and digest the
contents of the Fire Evacuation Notices near the Exits. If the Fire Alarm
sounds, leave by the nearest Exit and assemble in Palace Avenue Gardens.
DON’T
FORGET….. the church is open every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 10.00 to 12.00
Please make use of this in any way you would find helpful; come and sit quietly
for a few minutes; pray or ask for prayer for yourself or others. There are
always people available if you would like to talk about anything at all. So, why not make a
visit to
Palace
Avenue Methodist Church on a Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday morning – it might be just the
‘oasis’ you need.
Extra help is needed for the coffee mornings
in the church foyer - if anyone can spare the time to help, say, once a month,
this would be appreciated. Helping with coffee mornings can be both
enjoyable and rewarding. Please
contact us for more details.
PRAYER MINISTRY
We require volunteers to restart the Prayer Ministry, if you are
interested would you please speak to Dermot for more information.
COFFEE MORNINGS - MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY - 10.00 to 12.00
We still need more volunteers to help run the Coffee Mornings in
Palace Avenue Church foyer. During the summer, if the weather is nice, a third
person is needed to go on the stall outside in front of the church, which helps
boost fundraising. Volunteers must belong to our church and attend services
regularly -
contact us for details.
POSTCARDS AND GREETINGS CARDS
There are postcards of Palace
Avenue Methodist Church for sale in the Foyer. 20p each to include an
envelope.
Handmade blank Birthday
and Occasions cards are now for sale in the tower road foyer, next to the book
boxes. Most cards are £1.00 each; of which 50p goes to church funds (The
other 50p covers the cost of materials) thank you.
RECYCLING
Please continue to bring your used ink
cartridges, old mobile phones and used postage stamps and put in the box on the
table inside the rear entrance.
SUNDAY 09.00 ALTERNATIVE
SERVICES
The Sunday services for 09.00 alternatives this year will feature
a charity, mission, or theme, as well as personal worship. They will
include information on featured charities, along with prayer, sometimes
activities, and space to hear from God! So do come along and experience an
09.00 alternative worship service for something different.
THE BOOKSHOP
Our mini
bookshop is now stocked with a variety of Bibles, books and bible reading notes
as well as a selection of books for children. There are also a large
number of greetings cards for all occasions and packs of Easter Cards. The
‘shop’ will be open every Sunday morning and from 10.00 to 12.00 on Monday's,
Tuesday's and Wednesday's.
MEN'S BREAKFAST
Just a reminder to those who missed the last
Men's Breakfast, we
are now resting, and will meet again the first Saturday in September.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
We are looking for someone to join the Sunday School team to help
co-ordinate the monthly all-age worship in the church. We have a great
group of young people who love to take part in these services but we need
someone with creative flair to work with Dermot, our Minister, to bring it all
together. If you are interested, have a chat to one of the Sunday School
team of Pam, Anne, Nick, John, Sheila or Alison or
contact us to volunteer or obtain more
information. Thanks.
RECENT ROTARY
CHARITY WALK
The walk was well supported by our Church and we were sponsored to a total
of £445.00. Half this amount is for Church funds, and half is for the
children in Soweto, Kenya. Other monies were raised by individuals for
their own specific charities.
